Privacy Policy
Bit Birdie doesn't collect personal information. There are no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking. Your progress and settings stay on your iPhone. If you're signed in to Game Center, your scores and achievements go to Apple's Game Center. Tee Shop items are optional in-app purchases through Apple, and we use RevenueCat to check and restore them with an anonymous ID.
Who we are
Bit Birdie is made and published by Just A Little Project Studio LLC, a small independent studio in New York, USA (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information Bit Birdie uses, where it goes and the choices you have.
What we collect
Nothing that identifies you. Bit Birdie doesn't send information to us, and we don't run a server that stores information about players.
- No accounts or sign-up, and no name, email address, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or location
- No ads, analytics, crash-reporting or tracking tools, and no tracking across other companies' apps or websites
What stays on your device
Your rounds, best scores, settings and the Tee Shop items you've unlocked are saved on your device. They're never sent to us. Deleting the app deletes them (purchases can be restored, see below).
Apple Game Center
Game Center is optional. If you're signed in to Game Center on your device, your scores and achievements are sent to Apple's Game Center so they can appear on leaderboards and in the Games app. Your Game Center nickname (and, if you have one, your Game Center picture) can be shown in the game and to other players on leaderboards. Game Center is run by Apple under Apple's privacy policy; we don't receive your Apple Account details, and we only see leaderboard entries the same way any player does.
You can sign out of Game Center, or change who can see your activity, in Settings › Game Center. The game works without it.
Tee Shop purchases
Tee Shop items are optional one-time in-app purchases made through Apple. Apple handles the payment and never shares your payment details with us.
We use RevenueCat to check which items you've bought and to restore them on a new device. When the shop is used, RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID it creates, your App Store purchase receipts and the items you own, along with technical details such as your device's operating system, app version and IP address. RevenueCat isn't given your name, email or Game Center details, and it doesn't use this data for advertising. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Services we rely on
If you have turned on Share With App Developers in your iPhone's Analytics & Improvements settings, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. Apple strips them of anything that identifies you, and you can turn this off in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
- Apple App Store and In-App Purchase: downloads, payment and updates
- Apple Game Center (optional): leaderboards and achievements
- RevenueCat: checking and restoring purchases
Children
Bit Birdie is suitable for all ages. We don't collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Game Center and purchases for children are managed by the parent through Apple's Family Sharing and Screen Time settings, where purchases and Game Center features can be limited or turned off.
Keeping and deleting your information
We hold no information about you, so there's nothing for us to delete. Your progress stays on your device until you delete the app. Purchase records are kept by Apple and, in anonymous form, by RevenueCat so your purchases can be restored. Game Center data is managed by Apple in Settings › Game Center. To ask RevenueCat to delete its anonymous purchase record for your device, email us.
Your choices
- Sign in to or out of Game Center in Settings › Game Center
- Turn off in-app purchases with Screen Time › Content & Privacy Restrictions
- Delete the app to remove everything it saved
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top. If a change affects how we use information we already have, we'll say so clearly here (and in the app where that makes sense) before it takes effect.
